YOUNGWOOD, Pa. — Drivers who regularly use Route 119 are preparing for a traffic nightmare. An over 5-mile section of the highway will be ripped apart so crews can install new water and sewer lines.

PennDOT officials said roughly 24,000 vehicles on average travel that four-lane stretch of highway in Youngwood, Westmoreland County every day.
In addition to the water and sewer lines, there will be new manholes, valves and fire hydrants installed as part of the project. It’s scheduled to take over two years before it’s completed.
