LINCOLN, Neb. — A not-so-swift-minded suspect gave authorities a pseudonym Tuesday, forgetting he was wearing a lanyard with his real name on it, police said.
Officers responded to a domestic assault call at 10:30 p.m. knowing they would be contacting Markel Towner, 26, who has two warrants for his arrest, police said.
When investigators arrived, they found Towner seated in a vehicle out front of the house they were called to.
When an officer asked his name he replied, “Deangelo Towns” although a lanyard around his neck read “Markel Towner.”
After a brief struggle, Towner was taken into custody.
Towner was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, obstructing a government operation, false reporting, child neglect and third degree domestic assault.
