TAMPA, Fla. — With more than 1.3 million alligators in Florida, the odds of seeing the reptile native to the Sunshine State are pretty good.
But what are the odds of seeing a gator next to a sign warning people to watch out for alligators?
The odds were high in Tampa over the weekend.
The Tampa Police Department shared a photo on its Facebook page of a "large and very angry alligator" at Rowlett Park on the city's eastern side. The park borders the Hillsborough River, where many gators live and nest.

Police helped a trapper capture the alligator and remove it from the park, which is also located next to a golf course, WTVT reported.
The sign "has a slightly humorous cartoon of an alligator on it, but they are no laughing matter," Tampa police wrote on Facebook.
