EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — A Florida man is charged with throwing a toilet through the window of an Illinois school board office, police said.
Dave Tolivar, 36, allegedly hauled an old toilet to a Board of Education building Feb. 15 in East St. Louis and hurled it through the glass of a front window, according to a statement from police. Officers responded and found Tolivar a few blocks away, sitting on another old toilet, police said.
Tolivar has been charged with one count of criminal damage to property.
Tolivar is from Daytona Beach, Florida, The Miami Herald reported. It's unclear what brought him to Illinois.
Even more of a mystery is how he came into possession of two commodes -- and why he allegedly used one to commit a crime.
“No matter where the people of Florida go they always have the craziest crimes,” someone commented on an East St. Louis Police Department Facebook post.
