PITTSBURGH, Pa. — In honor of iconic children’s television host Fred Rogers’ birthday on March 20, Sony Pictures released a photo of Tom Hanks as Rogers in the new film “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,” and one can’t help but notice the amazing resemblance between the two men.
The Oscar-winning Hanks, 62, with styled gray hair, is wearing a red sweater over a white shirt and tie paired with khaki pants as he tosses a shoe in the air.

Hanks is starring in the new film, directed by Marielle Heller, and based on a story by journalist Tom Junod about how he and Rogers became friends.
The film is set for release in late November.
Rogers, who hosted “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” from 1968 until 2001, was also a musician, puppeteer and Presbyterian minister, who would have turned 91 on Wednesday. He died of stomach cancer in 2003 at the age of 74.
