HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. — Two homes in Hardin County, Tennessee, took a plunge into the Tennessee River Saturday evening.
Hardin County firefighters were called just after 5 p.m. to the 4800 block of Glendale Rd. for fears of a landslide along the Tennessee River.
Two houses were in danger of a collapse, but only one of the homes was being lived in. The homeowners were evacuated.
Just an hour later, the vacant house took a plunge down the steep bank. On Sunday afternoon, the second home collapsed into the river.
TDOT closed the area of Glendale Road between Coffee Landing and Small roads due to the collapse, which is about 20 feet from Glendale Road.
The fire departments ask everyone to avoid the area.
