25 missing or endangered teens found in northeast Ohio, US Marshals say

CLEVELAND — Authorities found 25 missing or endangered teens in northeastern Ohio as part of an investigation led by the U.S. Marshals Service, officials announced Thursday.

According to the Mansfield News Journal and WKYC, U.S. Marshals and other agencies worked together to recover the 13- to 18-year-olds through a program dubbed “Operation: Safety Net.” In 20 days, investigators found 25 teens in Akron, Cleveland, East Cleveland, Euclid, Miami and Willoughby, WKYC reported.

U.S. Marshals estimated that 1/4 of the cases involved prostitution or human trafficking, according to the news outlets.

The agencies are continuing to search for more children as part of the program, authorities said.
