HONG KONG — Four people have been arrested after the dismembered body of Abby Choi, a model and social media influencer, was found in a Hong Kong rental unit, authorities said Saturday.
Choi, 28, was first reported missing on Wednesday, the BBC reported. Her remains were found in a refrigerator in the unit, according to The Guardian. Parts of her body, along with a meat slicer, an electric saw, and some clothing, were found on Friday afternoon, CNN reported, citing a news release from Hong Kong police.
On Saturday, police said Choi’s ex-husband, Alex Kwong, 28, was arrested while trying to leave Hong Kong by boat at Tung Chung Development Pier, the South China Morning Post reported.

The man’s parents and older brother were detained on Friday, police said, according to the BBC.
“We believe the victim and her ex-husband’s family had many financial disputes involving huge sums,” police superintendent Alan Chung said, according to the AFP news agency. “Someone was dissatisfied with how the victim handled her assets, which became a motive to kill.”
Choi was allegedly last seen by her ex-husband’s brother, who also worked as her chauffeur, The Guardian reported.
