Michael Anthony Baltimore, 44, of Carlisle, was arrested after a traffic stop in Davie, WPLG-TV reported. Baltimore, who was a barber when he appeared on the television program, was stopped after he allegedly fled the scene of a bar fight that involved a knife and threats of a shooting, according to the television station.

According to Broward County Sheriff’s Office online booking records, Baltimore was charged with battery, possession of fentanyl, trafficking ecstasy, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a weapon by a felon, display of a firearm during a felony, proving false identification, and three counts of use of false information to obtain a driver’s license.

Authorities said they used a fingerprint scanner to confirm Baltimore’s identity after he gave them a false name, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a news release. Three fake identification cards were found inside his vehicle, the release stated.

Baltimore was added to the U.S. Marshals’ 15 Most Wanted list last year for his alleged involvement in the murder of a man at a barbershop on May 22, 2021, WTVJ-TV reported. Authorities said Baltimore opened fire at the GQ Barbershop in Carlisle and shot three people, killing the owner, Kendell Jerome Cook, according to the television station. He is expected to face first-degree murder charges.

According to U.S. Marshals, Baltimore had worked for Cook as a barber until 2019, CNN reported. That was the same year he appeared on the reality show. Baltimore stopped working shortly after the show aired, according to WSVN-TV.

U.S. Marshals Service director Ronald Davis, Cumberland County district attorney Sean McCormack and Carlisle police Chief Taro Landis released statements thanking the Davie Police Department for taking Baltimore into custody, WPLG reported.

Officers said Baltimore was in possession of 2.3 grams of Fentanyl, about 200 grams of marijuana, 818 ecstasy pills, fraudulent identifications, and a loaded handgun, WPLG reported.

“Now that he is in custody, we can finally begin the court process where he will be facing first-degree murder charges” in Cook’s death, McCormack said in the marshals’ statement.

“I want to thank the police officers in Davie, Florida for their diligence in arresting the fugitive,” Davis said in a statement. “I am also very appreciative of the efforts of our partners in Cumberland County who have been working on this case.

“I hope his capture brings some sense of relief and comfort to his victims’ families.”

Baltimore is being held at the Broward County Jail without bail, online records show.
