Foot Locker stores across the U.S. will add a new offering in addition to shoe sales starting Tuesday.
Americans will be able to register to vote at all Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Champs Sports and Footaction locations.
At more than 2,000 stores across the nation, shoppers will be able to check their voter registration status, register to vote and sign up for election reminders.
The initiative is in partnership with Rock the Vote, a nonpartisan organization focused on empowering young people to take civic action.
Beginning Tuesday, which is also National Voter Registration Day, those who visit Foot Locker brand stores can expect to see signage with a QR code that directs shoppers to a digital hub with voting resources.
More than four million young people are eligible to vote for the first time this November.
Foot Locker-owned brands have a cumulative following of 4.3 million consumers aged 18 to 24.
“The Foot Locker, Inc. family of brands [reaches] millions of young people every day, giving them a tremendous platform to empower this generation with the information they need to vote in this election,” Carolyn DeWitt, president of Rock the Vote, said in a press release. “We at Rock the Vote are eager to leverage their longstanding, trusted relationship with America’s youth generation to ensure their voices are heard.”
Foot Locker has also announced that the company will provide schedule flexibility for employees as they exercise their rights to vote.
