Coronavirus: Brad Paisley says his free grocery store in Tennessee is delivering food to seniors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country music star Brad Paisley is helping to make sure that seniors get the food they need amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Tennessean, Paisley took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that his Nashville, Tennessee-based free grocery store, simply called The Store, “is mobilizing delivery of a week’s groceries to our elderly neighbors in Edgehill and Berry Hill on Wednesdays/Thursdays.”

The Store also will remain open from 1 to 7 p.m. local time Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time on Saturdays, Paisley said.

Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, partnered with Belmont University to launch the volunteer-run, supermarket-style food bank this month, according to People magazine.

“In doing their own shopping, our guests not only have a sense of dignity, but also a higher satisfaction with the food they are able to choose,” The Store’s website says.
