In an Instagram post, Allen’s wife, Alexis, shared she was traveling with Zara when Zara started coughing and then became unresponsive before being taken to the hospital. In the post, she said Zara was diagnosed with RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus. The post also included pictures of both Alexis and Jimmie in the hospital with Zara.

According to the CDC, RSV is a common virus that generally causes symptoms like a cold. However, it can be very serious for infants, who may also have decreased activity and apnea (pauses while breathing), the CDC said. There are currently no vaccines available for the disease. The CDC recommends preventing the disease’s spread with frequent handwashing, avoiding close contact with sick people, and always cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.

Zara was given oxygen in the hospital, but is being weaned off it, People Magazine reported.

In addition to Zara, Jimmie and Alexis are parents to 20-month-old Naomi. Jimmie Allen also has a 7-year-old son from a previous relationship, Aadyn, Today reported.
