Dad of former ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Kim Zolciak-Biermann arrested

The father of former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak-Biermann was arrested on the Florida Panhandle earlier this week, authorities said.

Joseph Zolciak, 66, of Cantonment, was arrested Monday in Escambia County on a charge of battery, according to Escambia County Sheriff’s Office online booking records. He was released the following day after posting $1,000 bail, records show.

According to a police report, Zolciak was arrested Monday night after an altercation with his wife of 45 years, Karen Zolciak, the Miami Herald reported.

Karen Zolciak told police she began arguing with her husband about his conversation with a female neighbor, the newspaper reported. The argument escalated, and Karen Zolciak said her husband pushed her, causing her to hit her head on an antique table, WEAR-TV reported.

When they arrived, they met with Karen Zolciak, who provided a sworn statement, saying they began to argue about his talking to a female neighbor. Things escalated, and she said her husband pushed her, causing her to fall into an antique table.

Zolciak-Biermann, 43, was an original cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” during its first four seasons, Us Magazine reported. She starred on the reality television show with NeNe Leakes, Sheree Whitfield, DeShawn Snow and Lisa Wu when it debuted on Bravo in 2008, the magazine reported.

Zolciak-Biermann appeared in 92 episodes of the show between 2008 and 2021, according to IMDb.com.

Zolciak-Biermann is also known for her song, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party.”

Zolciak’s court date is set for Nov. 29, WEAR reported.
