A Florida man is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and kissing her while she was doing laundry, authorities said.
Shawn Dale Pons, 36, of North Fort Myers, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of burglary with assault or battery charge, according to Lee County Sheriff’s Office online booking records. Pons was also wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Martin County, booking records show.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, Pons broke into the home Monday while the woman was doing laundry. Deputies said Pons grabbed the woman from behind and attempted to kiss her on the cheek, WINK-TV reported.
The woman ran from the home and called 911, according to the Miami Herald.
According to the sheriff’s office, Lee said he had traveled to southwest Florida from St. Petersburg to help his brother on a construction job.
Pons was still in the home when deputies arrived, WINK reported.
Bail was set at $50,000 in Lee County. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 29, online records show.
