MILLBROOK, N.Y. — A FedEx deliveryman is facing rape and sexual abuse charges involving several teenagers he allegedly scouted while driving his Dutchess County, New York, route.
Joshua Ginyard, 30, of Millbrook has been charged with two counts of rape, two counts of criminal sexual act and forcible touching, WABC reported, noting additional charges are pending.
According to police, New York State troopers received information on Aug. 15 regarding a FedEx driver sexually abusing several teens under the age of 17, and Ginyard was arrested two days later, WPIX reported.
Investigators determined that Ginyard would pick up the teens in the FedEx vehicle he used during his workday and then drive them to nearby Washington, New York, where he gave them marijuana, the TV station reported.
According to police, Ginyard had sexual intercourse with one teen and forcibly touched another while inside the FedEx truck. He is also accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to two minors, WPIX reported.
FedEx released a statement on Wednesday stating that Ginyard has been terminated, WABC reported.
“FedEx Ground is appalled by these disturbing reports and will cooperate fully with law enforcement during their investigation. The individual arrested no longer provides service on behalf of FedEx Ground,” the company stated.
