Florida man arrested for impersonating an officer after pulling over off-duty cop, investigators say

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — A Florida man was arrested for impersonating an officer after he pulled over an off-duty cop, investigators said.

Omar Forde, who works as a private security guard, was driving home from work March 29 when an SUV sped by him, WFTV reported. The incident was publicized Thursday.

According to investigators, Forde was concerned that the driver might have been impaired and tried to pull him over. Forde pulled up to the vehicle, which Orlando police Officer Zachary Price was driving.

Price asked Forde if he was being stopped, according to officials. Forde told Price he needed to slow down. Price then called police.

Police responded and found Forde still in his work uniform which included a tactical vest with the words “Criminal Task Force” emblazoned across it. He also was wearing a Taser, a holstered handgun and a microphone.

Investigators learned Forde’s driver’s license had been suspended. He was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and driving with a suspended license.
