LAKE CITY, Fla. — A Florida man was charged with burglary on Wednesday after homeowners returned to find him lying on their couch watching TV while wearing their clothes, investigators said.
The homeowners returned at around 7 p.m. and found Jay Knight, 34, on the couch with the TV on, WGFL reported.
Police arrived as Knight was trying to leave. He admitted to kicking in the door to the home. He then took several items, put them in a bag and placed it by the door before he started watching TV, investigators said.
Knight was arrested and charged with burglary, petit theft and criminal mischief, according to jail records.
