NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A cellphone caused some grief for a Florida teenager on Wednesday afternoon.
The teen, who dropped the cellphone into a storm drain while walking home from school, got stuck after removing the manhole cover and trying to retrieve the electronic device, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
When the teen was unable to get out of the drain, a passerby called firefighters for help, WTVT reported.

It took crews about an hour, but the teen -- and cellphone -- were finally removed from the drain.
According to officials from Pasco County Fire Rescue, there were no injuries, the Times reported.
“Firefighters were able to extricate the teen from the storm drain, cleaned them off, checked the drain for hazardous gasses, and turned the teen over to their parents,” fire officials said in a Facebook post. “We are thankful there were no injuries.”
