Siller was found dead Saturday at the 10th hole of the golf course at Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw after a man drove onto the course in a pickup truck, according to WSB and The New York Times.

Siller had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head, WSB reported. Officials said he had been working as director of golf at the club.

“Tragedy has stricken the Georgia Section PGA in the loss of our Member, Gene Siller,” the Georgia section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America wrote Saturday in a post on Twitter. “Thoughts and prayers for his family and the Pinetree Country Club family.”

Officials responding to the scene found a white Ram 3500 pickup truck parked on the green, according to WSB. Inside the truck’s bed investigators found two other men dead, both with apparent gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Investigators identified one of the men found dead in the truck as Paul Pierson, the registered owner of the vehicle, according to WSB. As of Monday morning, the third victim had not been identified.

It was not immediately clear whether either Pierson or the other man had connections to Pinetree Country Club.

Officials at the club canceled planned Fourth of July celebrations in the wake of Saturday’s shooting.

In a joint statement published Sunday, officials with the Georgia State Golf Association and the Georgia chapters of the Club Management Association of America, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the PGA of America asked people to keep Siller’s family and friends in their thought and prayers.

A GoFundMe campaign launched to support Siller’s family had garnered nearly $200,000 from 1,300 donors by Monday morning.
