Trill, whose real name was Corey Detiege, was visiting Atlanta for the NBA All-Star weekend, his manager, Bone of Boneafied Entertainment, told the Houston Chronicle.

“He was very passionate about his music, very humble young dude,” Bone told the newspaper. “Just a good guy.”

The Gwinnett County Police Department identified Trill, from Sugar Land, Texas, as the victim of a shooting on Interstate 85 South near Jimmy Carter Boulevard at around 3 a.m., KHOU reported.

Trill was shot at least once and died at a hospital, police said. Detectives said the motive remained unknown.

Trill was the son of rapper D of Trinity Garden Cartel and manager of Cash Committee Musik Group, his manager told the Chronicle. In 2018, he released the album “Music for the Soul” and was working on albums “Cartel Baby” and “No Rumors,” Bone told the newspaper.

Rapper Bun B, also from Houston, sent condolences in an Instagram post.

“Damn. This was a good man. Humble. Hard-working. Loyal. Determined. Focused. And he had the talent,” Bun B wrote.

Trill’s death was the sixth fatal shooting on an Atlanta interstate this year, WSB-TV reported.

“Obviously these types of shootings are very concerning for the police department,” Cpl. Collin Flynn, a spokesperson for the Gwinnett Police Department, told reporters. “Not only do you have the two vehicles that are involved in this shooting, but you also have multiple people that are driving on the interstate that could also be victims to these types of crimes.”
