Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized following a “medical complication,” his daughter announced on Instagram late Wednesday.
“We wanted to share that my father Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, posted in the statement. “Luckily due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Corinne Foxx released no more details on Foxx’s condition, according to WSB-TV. TMZ reported Foxx was first taken to the hospital on Tuesday.
Foxx, 55, has been working in Atlanta on a film called “Back in Action,” a Netflix comedy, with costars Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz, according to CNN.
Foxx, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of singer Ray Charles in the movie “Ray,” has starred in TV shows and movies including “Django Unchained,” “Jarhead,” and the “Spider-Man” franchise.
He won a Grammy in 2010 for a single called “Blame It.”
