BREWSTER, Ohio — A kangaroo is on the loose in northeastern Ohio, perplexing police as they attempt to corral a marsupial that has been hopping away from authorities since Thursday.
According to the Brewster Police Department, a resident reported they had spotted a baby kangaroo at about 9:30 a.m. EDT on Thursday, WOIO-TV reported.
Brewster police Chief Nathan Taylor said his department was shown a video that showed the kangaroo crossing a road in Stark County at about 2 a.m. EDT on Saturday, according to the television station. The animal was spotted again near railroad tracks at around 10:35 p.m., according to WEWS-TV.
Initial reports indicated that two kangaroos were running wild, but Taylor said Sunday that there was only one escapee.

So far, the search has proved fruitless, but Taylor said police have a general idea of where to find the animal, WJW-TV reported. But he conceded that he is stymied by the elusive animal.
“Never in my 25 years have I run into this,” Taylor told WOIO.
