SAN ANTONIO — An unidentified man was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of stealing a FedEx truck left unattended by a delivery driver in Texas.
According to San Antonio police, the man had a small child with him during the alleged robbery, and the child was not injured in the incident, KENS 5 reported.
The FedEx driver told authorities he parked his truck with the ignition running at an apartment complex in West San Antonio around 1 p.m. He said he was handling packages in the back of the truck when he felt the vehicle move, the TV station reported.
The driver also told police the man had motioned as if he was going to pull a weapon and alerted them to the presence of the young child accompanying the assailant, KENS 5 reported.
According to WTXS, the suspect, who appeared to be in his 30s, allegedly screamed at police before he was taken peacefully into custody.
Police confirmed to WTXS they believe the child is the man’s daughter and that he may be suffering from a mental illness.
