ROSWELL, N.M. — Crews in New Mexico are searching for a missing 3-year-old boy after authorities found his mother’s body in a Roswell home.

According to an Amber Alert, Roswell police believe Osiel Ernesto Rico, 3, of Roswell, may be with his father, 32-year-old Jorge Rico-Rivira, after the child’s mother was found slain Tuesday morning. Rico-Rivira is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of the woman, 27-year-old Isela Mauricio-Sanchez, police said in a Facebook post.
UPDATE: An arrest warrant was issued Jan. 8 for Jorge Rico-Ruvira. He is charged with first-degree murder....

Authorities said Osiel, who is Hispanic with brown hair and eyes, stands about 2 1/2 feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. the boy, who was last seen Sunday, “is believed to be in danger if not located,” the Amber Alert said.
Rico-Ruvira, who has black hair and brown eyes, stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, the alert said. He may be traveling in a maroon 2003 GMC Yukon with New Mexico tag MNF231.
