SWEETWATER, Tenn. — An Ohio woman is accused of running naked through an East Tennessee motel last month and pulling fire alarms, authorities said.
Alisha Marie Garvin, 29, of Alliance, was arrested Sept. 27 by Sweetwater police, the Advocate and Democrat of Madisonville reported. She was charged with public intoxication, trespassing and filing a false report.
Responding to a call at the Oyo Motel in Sweetwater, Officer Brandon Cansler said he was told by motel personnel that Garvin allegedly was knocking on doors and asking patrons if they wanted to participate in sexual activities, the newspaper reported.
Garvin then allegedly ran through the motel naked, pulling at least five fire alarms, the Advocate and Democrat reported.
Cansler said he then interviewed Garvin, the newspaper reported. He did not say if Garvin had put her clothes back on.
According to an arrest affidavit, when Cansler asked Garvin why she pulled the alarms, she said she was about to be raped at a Pilot gas station in Arkansas. Cansler said Garvin then amended her statement and said the alleged rape attempt was at a Pilot station in Niota, located in neighboring McMinn County.
Cansler said he contacted the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office, and it reported there had been no calls about alleged sexual assaults, the Advocate and Democrat reported.
Garvin then admitted she had “shot up with meth” several days earlier, according to the arrest affidavit. She was then arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail in Madisonville, the newspaper reported.
