According to a news release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, two lots of Good & Gather were recalled after the Florida Department of Agriculture found the sulfites in the 4-ounce packages.

Sulfites are chemicals used as preservatives to slow discoloration in foods and beverages during preparation, storage and distribution, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

SunTree Snack Foods LLC of Phoenix announced the national recall on Wednesday, the FDA said in its release.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the FDA said in its news release.

The recall covers lot No. 86061, with a best-by date of Sept. 1, 2022; and lot No. 88514, with a best-by date of Oct. 1 and Oct. 4, 2022, and Oct. 11-14, 2022.

The FDA advised that consumers should either throw the packages away or return the pouch to a Target store for a full refund.

Consumers with questions can call SunTree at 800-440-0680 or 480-719-6000, extension 219, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. EDT.
