Thrill-seekers got a bit more than they bargained for when a cable that held a slingshot ride snapped.
The incident happened at London’s Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, The Times reported.
The ride is a reverse bungee that releases a pod about 164 feet in the air at about 60 mph.
Two people were inside the pod when the cable snapped, sending the cage into a support beam before letting them hang in the air. The two riders were rescued by staff at the fair before the London Fire Brigade got to the scene, ITV reported.
The failure was caught on video and shared on social media. It can be seen on Twitter but warning, there is profanity.
Neither rider was injured, Sky News reported.
