NEW YORK — New York police have arrested a man who appeared to try to abduct a woman from a subway train in a viral video Monday, authorities said.
According to WCBS-TV and Fox News, Sonny Alloway, 48, was arrested on an unlawful imprisonment charge in connection with the incident, which took place about 2:30 a.m. at a station in the Bronx.
A cellphone video shot inside the train appears to show the man trying to get the attention of a passenger sleeping in her seat, WCBS reported. He then lifts the woman and carries her off the train, according to the news outlet.
The clip was posted on YouTube, where it quickly went viral, racking up nearly 1 million views by Tuesday morning.
