State police in Ohio said a semitractor trailer combination lost tires which hit a tanker truck, killing the driver.
The incident happened Tuesday on Interstate 280 in Lake Township, WTVG reported.
State troopers said a tractor-trailer was driving southbound on the highway when it lost a set of dual tires from one of the axles. The tires went across a median and hit a tanker truck that was traveling north.

The tires hit the cab of the truck, likely killing the driver on impact, WTOL reported.
The driver was identified as Daniel Gardner, 69, of Bad Axe, Michigan.
The truck that lost the tires did not stop after the incident, but the driver and the tractor-trailer truck were later found at a truck stop near the crash, officials said Tuesday evening, WTOL reported.
No charges have been filed and the crash is under investigation.
