Deedee Mueller told KABC that she frequently sees bears near her home in Pasadena, California, but this time one got a little too close.

A bear started sniffing around her backyard and then eventually got inside the house to look around the kitchen.

But her two terriers were there to protect their domain.

“Based on the barks, I knew something was up,” Mueller said, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Squirt and Mei Mei ran through the kitchen barking at the bear that wandered into their home, scaring off the bear.

You can see what happened in a video Mueller posted to her YouTube channel.

She said, “You could tell the bear looked nervous inside the house. Actually, he (went) into another pond on the other side of the yard but got chased away by the dogs again,” the Bee reported.
