Vicky Eguia, a public relations executive at Amazon Studios who helped create campaigns for the films “Manchester by the Sea” and “The Salesman,” died Saturday, her family said. She was 48.

Eguia died after a long battle with cancer, her family wrote on social media.

Eguia began her career in 2000 as an account executive in the film department of Rogers & Cowan, Variety reported.

She most recently served as director of public relations for diversity, equality and community relations at Amazon, the entertainment news outlet reported. She joined Amazon in 2015.

Eguia played a key role in promoting “Manchester by the Sea,” the 2016 film that made history as the first streaming movie to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. The film won two Oscars for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay, Deadline reported. “The Salesman” won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

She also oversaw publicity campaigns for “The Big Sick,” “Cold War,” “The Sound Of Metal,” “Borat Subsequent Movie Film,” “One Night in Miami,” “Coming 2 America” and others, according to Deadline.

Eguia also worked at Millennium Entertainment, Apparition, Picturehouse and Newmarket Films.
