DÜZCE, Turkey — A curious bear cub was rescued by rangers in Turkey after eating a little too much honey and getting drunk.
A video shared by the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry shows the baby brown bear found in Düzce. In the video, the bear can be seen wobbling before happily lounging in the back of a truck before it is taken to be evaluated by a veterinarian.

The disoriented bear had eaten mad honey, known as “deli bal” in Turkish, which comes from the rhododendron flower and can have hallucinogenic effects, Reuters reported.
Mad honey originated in the Black Sea region of Turkey and is some of the most expensive in the world, costing up to $166 a pound, according to the late honey expert Vaughn Bryant. Eaten in small doses, the honey can create feelings of euphoria and hallucinations. But in higher doses, the honey can cause severe illness and, in rare cases, can be fatal.
The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said the bear is in “good health” and that it is being treated by veterinarians, Insider reported. The agency is also asking the public to help name the animal, referring to it as its “daughter.”
Authorities said that once the bear is well, it would likely be released back into the wild, Reuters reported.
