Harrison Smith, the Minnesota Vikings' All-Pro safety, was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans for a brutal hit on Texans tight end Jordan Akins.

The targeting call came late in the second quarter, and Akins left the game after he was diagnosed with a concussion, Fox News reported.

According to ESPN, Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson had just completed a 26-yard pass to Akins on second-and-10 with 1:13 remaining in the half.

Smith attempted to tackle Akins but led with the crown of his helmet, resulting in the dangerous hit as Akins was falling to the ground and in Smith’s ejection from the game, the sports news network reported.
