PITTSBURGH — A 32-year-old woman was shot while walking down a street in a section of Duquesne that police say is a high-crime area.
Allegheny County Police said they are still investigating what led to the drive by shooting. It happened near a church right before a Christmas Eve service.
But the police and the shooting are things neighbors said they did not expect to see on Christmas Eve.

“This is a day for love. Peace. Jesus Christ. It’s not time for this, it’s not time for sirens. It’s not time for somebody being hauled off with paramedics from being shot,” said Robert Davis.
Davis lives in the area, and he said he’s tired of the violence.
“You’re leaving holes in families. You’re leaving holes in children,” he said.
For Davis, the violence is personal: He lost his niece in a shooting.
“If you know a young person and if you could reach this young person, please have them put down these guns,” he said.
The woman has non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said it’s unclear if the victim was targeted or not.
No one is in custody, but police said the shooter or shooters were in a dark colored sedan.
