Woodland Hills School District teacher hospitalized after being tripped by student

PITTSBURGH — A fourth-grade teacher in the Woodland Hills School District was injured after allegedly being tripped by a student on Wednesday morning.

The teacher suffered a broken arm and went to the hospital following the incident.

"At this point, we don't know if it was intentional or not but that is something we are investigating," said Allan Johnson, Woodland Hills superintendent.

For the past 35 years, the teacher worked for the Woodland Hills School District. They plan to return to the district next week to close out their career.

"We will do our best to make it as happy as we can for her," Johnson said.

The student has been suspended until Swissvale police and district officials finish their investigation.
