Curtis Martin, Craig Heyward among those selected to Pitt Hall of Fame

PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh named the third class to its Hall of Fame Tuesday night.

The announcement came during a Facebook Live called “Pitt Panthers at Home.” It featured Athletic Director Heather Lyke and coaches Pat Narduzzi, Jeff Capel, Lance White and Dan Fisher.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Jennifer Bruce (Women’s Basketball)
  • Donna DeMarino Sanft (Gymnastics Student-Athlete and Coach)
  • Chantee Earl (Women’s Track and Field)
  • Craig “Ironhead” Heyward (Football; Posthumous)
  • Brandin Knight (Men’s Basketball)
  • Ann Marie Lucanie (Volleyball)
  • Ken Macha (Baseball)
  • Curtis Martin (Football)
  • Bob Peck (Football; Posthumous)
  • Pat Santoro (Wrestling)
  • Jackie Sherrill (Football Coach)
  • Arnie Sowell (Men’s Track and Field)
  • Glenn Scobey “Pop” Warner (Football Coach; Posthumous)

Lyke created the Pitt Hall of Fame in 2018. Tonight’s honorees join an inaugural class of 15 that includes Dan Marino, Mike Ditka, Tony Dorsett and Herb Douglas.

The 12 members of the 2019 class include Sam Clancy, Jimbo Covert and John Majors.
