PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers allowed around 5,500 fans into Heinz Field to watch the team take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The announcement came Tuesday after Gov. Tom Wolf announced he was easing capacity restrictions at indoor and outdoor events starting Friday.

Steelers president Art Rooney II tweeted out that season ticket holders who did not opt out will be chosen at random by a computer.
We also found out fans have to use their cell phone showing an e-ticket instead of the paper ticket.
Everyone must wear a mask at all times unless you’re eating or drinking and you have to stay at least six feet away from people you did not come to the game with and you have to remain in your assigned seats.
Prior to the game against Philadelphia, Channel 11 spoke with fans who found unique ways to tailgate. They said there were more Eagles fans in attendance than they expected, but the experience was good overall.

Last month, the Steelers said the team was “optimistic” about having some fans in the stands at Heinz Field in October.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Pittsburgh both announced in August that there will be no fans in attendance for at least the first two home games at Heinz Field due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
If you’re hoping to go to the game during the rest of this season, Heinz Field put out an extensive list of what to know before you go. Click here to see it.
