Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell took to Instagram to answer questions live on Wednesday night, and he didn't shy away from the biggest questions regarding his contract.
The biggest revelation Bell made was about whether he will hold out for the entire season, or retire. Bell said, "Am I going to sit out if I don't get paid? Honestly, no. I'm not going to sit out. I'm going to be in the facility week one, it's going to be a rerun of last year. I'm not going to camp, none of the extra OTA's none of that, I'm going to strictly go to what I have to go to. I want to win every game. I want to have the best statistical career that I possibly can so I want to play in every game that I possibly can play. Me saying that I was going to sit out was more emotional at the time, so when I was asked the question, that's the way I felt at that time."
Moments later though, he also said he didn't know what week he would show up to play, but that he will play this season.

Bell also addressed the reason behind his high contract demands, with a comparison to all-time great Adrian Peterson. Bell said, "Adrian Peterson in 2011 signed for nearly $100 million, but his (annual salary per year) was $14 million a year in 2011. That was seven years ago. It's 2018 right now and guys are signing for $8 million a year at running back. I don't know where that shift was."
The Steelers placed the franchise tag on Bell on Tuesday, after he and the team failed to reach a long term deal. Both sides have until mid-July to reach a new deal, or Bell would have to play under the terms of the franchise tag if he does decide to play. He did say on Instagram that he's still hopeful a deal can get done.
