PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are “optimistic” about having some fans in the stands at Heinz Field in October.
“As we previously announced, we will not have any fans at our home games in September. However, we remain optimistic about hosting a limited amount of fans at Heinz Field beginning with our game against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 11," said Pittsburgh Steelers spokesperson Burt Lauten.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Pittsburgh both announced in August that there will be no fans in attendance for at least the first two home games at Heinz Field due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
