TAMPA — The Eastern Conference finals have shifted to Tampa, where game 3 will be played tonight at Amalie Arena.
Channel 11 Sports Director Alby Oxenreiter is in Tampa. He says Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop was on the ice today but he did not practice. Bishop will definitely not play tonight in game 3, says Oxenreiter.
Bishop was injured trying to make a save during game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Penguins.
While Penguins coach Mike Sullivan has made no official announcement, Matt Murray is expected to start in goal once again.
The Penguins are hoping they can carry over the momentum from game 2 after Sidney Crosby evened the series 40 seconds into overtime.
Forward Conor Sheary talked about the boost that game-winning goal gave the Pens. "Everyone says you have to have a short memory in the playoffs, but the win at home was huge for us," said Sheary.
Coach Sullivan is comfortable with the dynamic of his four lines. "We have a comfort level with our balance. We have strengths on every line," said Sullivan.
Game 4 will be Friday night in Tampa before the series returns to Pittsburgh for game 5 on Sunday night.
