PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins will not be playing the New Jersey Devils Tuesday because of COVID-19 protocols.

NHL reporter Darren Dreger reported the Devils are shutting down for as long as a week as they deal with the coronavirus. It’s not clear how many players have tested positive for the virus, but 10 are now on the COVID list.

The Penguins were set to play New Jersey Tuesday and Thursday nights, but those games are now off.
According to multiple reports, the Pens next 2 games after tonight (at NJ tomorrow night and Thursday night) have been canceled and will be rescheduled. COVID issues with the Devils #WPXI

The Penguins confirmed the news Monday, saying the team’s next two games will have to be postponed.
Instead of playing the Devils Tuesday and Thursday, the Penguins will face the Rangers Monday night and then the New York Islanders on Saturday.

The Pens will face NYR tonight, then will play NYI as scheduled Saturday night.
According to the NHL, four New Jersey players were added to the COVID Protocol Related Absence List -- so the team’s games scheduled through at least Saturday will be postponed.

The Penguins play the New York Rangers Monday night, and that game is good to go.
The Devils shut down their training facilities while the league investigates and the team continues to follow COVID-19 protocol.
