PITTSBURGH — The Penguins could be without their starting goaltender for a while. Matt Murray was diagnosed with a concussion after being hit in the head with a puck.
Backup goalies Tristan Jarry and Casey DeSmith will have to carry the load until Murray returns. Jarry was recalled Tuesday from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
A return date for Murray is not known.
The Penguins are making a run for a third consecutive Stanley Cup.
They recently announced a 5-year contract extension for Patric Hornqvist and traded for players Derick Brassard and Josh Jooris.
