PITTSBURGH — Members of the Pittsburgh Penguins sent hand-written thank you notes to season ticket holders who renewed their plans for next season.

According to a release from the team, the notes were sent to 66 randomly selected season ticket holders, and they should start arriving on Friday.

Players such as Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, Kris Letang and Brian Dumoulin wrote the cards Thursday.

One of Crosby’s notes read, “Chuck – The Pittsburgh Penguins thank you for renewing your season tickets. Especially during these trying times, we as players appreciate your support. Thanks!”

This is the latest outreach gesture from the Penguins as much of the sports world nears a return from the coronavirus pandemic.

Team officials said that in April, Penguins players and coaches “personally called more than 500 season ticket holders and corporate partners at home to see how they were doing.”
