If you’re looking for a reason to watch the Tokyo Olympics, look no further than shot putter Joe Kovacs.
It turns out, his coach is his wife.
Kovacs went to Penn State and is from Bethlehem.
He won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Since then, he got married and changed coaches. His wife, Ashley, is the throwing coach at Ohio State University.
“She has a lot of knowledge and I trust that,” Kovacs said. “I’ve started to enjoy being a thrower more. I enjoy my life and I enjoy the sport more.”
Kovacs was a Big 10 champion at Penn State. He graduated in 2011 with a major in energy business and finance.
