PITTSBURGH — University of Pittsburgh women’s basketball standout and New Castle native Lorri Johnson has died.
Johnson was Pitt’s all-time leading scorer, scoring 2312 points in her career with the Panthers from 1987 to 1992.

In 2019, Johnson became Pitt’s first female athlete to have her jersey retired, and only the fifth basketball player to have her jersey hanging in the rafters at the Peterson Events Center.
