Riverhounds to be first Pittsburgh pro sports team to get back on the field

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will be getting national exposure on July 12 when they are slated to open their delayed season in Louisville in a game to be televised on ESPN2, the team announced on Tuesday on its website.

The time of the game against Louisville City FC has yet to be determined.

The Riverhounds remaining USL schedule and first home game have not been announced.

“We are excited to kick off our 2020 season with a nationally televised match on ESPN2,” owner Tuffy Shallenberger said in the online statement. “The national stage will mark a tremendous opportunity for our club to return to play. We are looking forward to playing soccer again and beginning our 2020 season.”
