The Rivers Casino
The Rivers is one of the two major casinos, a massive facility located on the north shore. The gaming floor covers more than 120,000 square feet and features 2,900 slot machines, more than 100 table games and a 30-table poker room.
The Rivers has something for every kind of player at any level of experience. The table games include favorites like blackjack, roulette, pai gow poker, mini-baccarat and all different kinds of poker: three-card; four-card; Mississippi stud and more, according to the casino's website.

Dining
There are also five excellent restaurants ranging from comfort food to fine dining. Check out the cleverly named Andrews Steak and Seafood, which honors Pittsburgh's most famous natives who happen to be named Andrew, including Carnegie, Mellon and Warhol. Andrews is a fine-dining option and a winner of Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence. It features an eclectic menu with unique appetizers and innovative desserts, aged steaks, fresh seafood and finely crafted, decadent desserts.
The Grand View Buffet offers something of everything from Asian to Italian to barbecue. Wheelhouse Bar and Grill is a casual place with comfort foods like cheese steak, burgers and chili and your favorite sports teams on the biggest TV in Pittsburgh.
In the summer there's a concert series at the outdoor amphitheater.
The Meadows Casino
There's plenty of indoor activity, but The Meadows is best-known for its racetrack with year-round harness racing, and an all-ages bowling alley that youngsters can enjoy.
The track is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and the casino is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The table games include variations on the most popular and high stakes options in craps,
blackjack, roulette and mini baccarat.
Texas Hold 'Em
Texas Hold 'Em Bonus, the popular poker game, allows various ways to bet throughout the game against the dealer and an optional bonus bet at various stages of the game.
Craps
The Meadows offers the only craps games among the region, and the high-roller variations include a 10x betting option and a "Fire Bet" that allows you to win up to an extra $5,000.
Pai Gow Poker
Pai Gow Poker is an option offered at both Pittsburgh casinos. It's a seven-card game that allows you to make your best five-card hand and best two-card hand. Beat the dealer heads up in both hands and win. A split is a tie.
Baccarat seems complicated, but it's not. Cards valued 2 to 9 count face values, faces and 10s count as zero. First to total 9 wins. There are three outcomes: player, banker and tie. Two types of baccarat are available at The Meadows: mini- and midi-baccarat.
Dining
The Meadows also has great restaurants to go along with 3,300 slot machines and 78 gaming tables.
More gambling in Pittsburgh's future
Gov. Tom Wolf signed a bill in 2017 that will make the state the fourth in the nation to allow online gambling. The measure also will allow the state's current 10 casinos to apply for the right to operate satellite casinos and put video gambling terminals inside truck stops. It also would allow gambling parlors in airports.
