Offerings vary at Pittsburgh's DMV locations: driver license centers, standalone photo centers, online messenger locations, and online registration program locations.

Driver license centers

These centers are operated by PennDOT employees and offer a range of services, including initial photo ID card, photo ID card renewal, photo ID address change, photo ID card duplicate/replacement, driver's license address change, driver's license duplicate/replacement, commercial driver's license renewal, commercial driver's license address change, commercial driver's license duplicate/replacement, photo for driver's license/ID card, learner's permits, road test (non-commercial, commercial, and motorcycle)*, special point exam*, CDL learner's permits, commercial knowledge test, new resident driver's license/transfer, restoration requirements letter, organ donor designation, and veterans designation.

Standalone photo centers

These centers are for people who have received camera cards (invitations to the photo license/identification card process). When someone receives a camera card, they must appear at one of the centers to get a photo for their license or identification card.

Online business partners

These are private businesses that PennDOT partners with to provide a range of over-the-counter services. They charge a market-driven service fee, along with applicable PennDOT fees. There are two types: online messengers and online registration program agents.

Online messengers offer driver license and motor vehicle services, including photo ID card renewal, photo ID address change, driver's license renewal, driver's license address change, driver's license duplicate/replacement, 3-year driver record requests, 10-year driver record requests, basic driver record requests, full driver record requests (CDL holders only), presentation of proof of insurance for driver's license suspensions, restoration requirements letter, restoration requirements/pay restoration fee, organ donor designation, veterans designation, duplicate title, heavy truck registration requirements, insurance restorations*, providing proof of insurance*, person with disability parking placard*, person with disability parking plate, retired status vehicle registration renewal, request for vehicle information, zoological/wildlife/heritage special fund plates, in-transit tags, transfer registration, vehicle registration address change, vehicle registration duplicate/replacement, vehicle registration renewal and reissue materials.

Online registration program agents provide online motor vehicle titling and registration transactions. Services offered include: request for vehicle information, in-transit tags, transfer registration, vehicle registration address change, vehicle registration duplicate/replacement, vehicle registration renewal, reissue materials, change owner or change/delete/add lessee, title and registration, PA reconstructed title and registration and lien holder maintenance.
