The Pittsburgh Marathon takes thousands of runners through 26.2 scenic miles of riverfront trails, historic parks, neighborhoods and attractions.

The Pittsburgh Marathon is typically held the first Sunday in May. Check the Pittsburgh Marathon website for official dates.The marathon weekend features special race-related events. Race day includes several simultaneous races for people (and pets) of all ages and fitness levels.
The Course
You'll cross Pittsburgh's three rivers over three different bridges. You'll run through neighborhoods with their own distinct personalities, accompanied by bands and cheering crowds along the way. And you will run past the stadiums of Pittsburgh's legendary sports teams: the Penguins, the Pirates and the Steelers.
It is a USA Track and Field-certified course, with fluid stations and medical personnel stations all along the route.

The race has drawn tens of thousands of runners and spectators since its revival in 2009. Participation has peaked at approximately 25,000 runners and 60,000 spectators.
