PITTSBURGH — A Winter Weather Advisory was issued for areas to the north and east of the Pittsburgh area. That includes Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer and Venango counties. The main impact will be a light glaze of ice caused by freezing rain that could make travel hazardous.

Cold rain will settle into the area on Sunday and a few spots could see freezing rain as the next system moves in. Those areas to the north could see a brief period of freezing rain before sunrise with a higher threat for icy problems closer to I-80.

Temperatures will warm through the night and into the day Sunday so any wintry mix will change to rain by mid-morning for most areas.

Rain will taper to showers by the afternoon with a few isolated snow showers possible as colder air moves in Sunday night.
